Privacy Policy
This policy explains exactly what data Notebook LM Slide Editor collects, what it does with that data, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English. If anything is unclear, please email us at contact@notebooklm-editor.online.
1. What We Collect
Notebook LM Slide Editor is built around a privacy-first architecture. When you upload a PDF or image to the editor, that file is loaded into your browser's memory — it is never uploaded to a server we control. The only data that leaves your browser is the small cropped image region you explicitly ask the AI to analyze, which is sent to the Google Gemini API over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, browser fingerprint, or any other identifying information unless you provide it to us voluntarily by sending an email to our contact address. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs that build behavioral profiles. The site does include Google AdSense advertising scripts; AdSense uses cookies as described in section 3 below.
2. How We Use What We Collect
The cropped image region you send to the Gemini API is used solely to generate the structured style response you see in the editor sidebar — the font family, weight, size, color, and so on. This data is not used by us for any other purpose. According to Google's published Gemini API terms, prompts sent through the paid API are not used to train Google's foundation models. The data is discarded as soon as the response is returned to your browser.
If you send us an email, we use the contents of that email solely to respond to your message and any related follow-up correspondence. We do not add your email address to a mailing list, share it with marketing partners, or use it for any other purpose.
3. Cookies and Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense, which may set cookies on your browser to serve advertisements based on your past visits to this and other websites. You can manage or disable personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also disable third-party cookies entirely in your browser's privacy settings; doing so will not affect any editing functionality on this site, only the advertising experience.
Aside from AdSense, the site uses only browser-native storage (sessionStorage and localStorage) to remember your selected UI language and editor preferences for the duration of your visit. These local preferences are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
4. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are used to deliver this tool:
- Google Gemini API — receives small cropped image regions for OCR and style analysis. Google's privacy policy applies to that data.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used in the editor UI. Loading a font from Google Fonts transmits your IP address and a User-Agent string to Google, as is standard for any web font CDN.
- Cloudflare Pages — hosts the static files of this site. Cloudflare's edge servers see standard HTTP request metadata (IP, User-Agent, referrer) for the purpose of serving the page and protecting against abuse.
- Google AdSense — serves the advertisements that fund continued development. See section 3 above.
We have no other third-party integrations and do not transmit any data to any other service.
5. Security
All connections between your browser and the Google Gemini API are encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS (TLS) protocols. Because we do not store your documents on our servers, the surface area for security incidents is minimal — there is no persistent database of user files that could be breached. The site itself is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which provides DDoS protection and SSL by default.
For documents containing highly sensitive information (legal contracts, medical records, financial filings), we recommend reviewing whether browser-side AI processing meets your specific compliance requirements before uploading.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, or delete personal information that a service holds about you (for example, under GDPR in the European Economic Area, or the CCPA in California). Because we do not create user accounts and do not store the documents you edit, in almost all cases there is no personal information of yours that we hold to begin with. If you have sent us an email and would like that email deleted from our inbox, please email contact@notebooklm-editor.online and we will honor the request promptly.
7. Children's Privacy
This service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through our contact email, please notify us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post a notice on the home page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the service after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
